What does it mean by The Underrepresented?

Underrepresented

The definition of word "Underrepresented" is defined as; Underrepresented refers to a group of people or a community that is not adequately represented in a particular field or aspect of society. This can include individuals or groups who are not given equal access to opportunities, resources, and representation in the areas of politics, education, employment, and more.

In the context of manekNya, underrepresented groups includes women, minorities and low-income individual. There's the lack of support and resources available to them. For instance, women are often the primary caregivers for children and elderly family members, which can make it difficult for them to access the same resources and opportunity as men.

According to a UN report, women and girls represent 70% of the world's poor. They often have less access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, and are more likely to be victims of violence and discrimination.

Why not the word "Marginalized? Oppressed?"

In manekNya, we believe in promoting equality and inclusivity for all. One that is important is to use the language that is inclusive and respectful. We aim to create a culture of acceptance and respect for everyone.

Our goal is to break down barriers and dismantle systems that perpetuate discrimination and bias, and to provide equal opportunities for all individuals (Yes, ALL) to succeed in life. We want and strive to create a society where everyone has an equal chance to achieve their full potential, without the limitations imposed by societal biases, discrimination or towards the low-income individuals.

Ultimately, our goal is to create a society where all individuals, regardless of gender or have equal representation and opportunities to achieve their full potential.
